Sally Hansen Satin Glam Swatches + Review

Hiya!

Today on the blog I have swatches of 3 of the Satin Glam polishes from Sally Hansen.  These are really cool.  They're glittery polishes that dry to a satin finish (somewhere between matte and glossy). On to the pictures and review!

Teal Tulle. 2 Coats, Glittery teal.  This is my favorite of the ones I own. Its beautiful and even though it has a satin finish, it catches the sun beautifully! Definitely will be wearing this a lot this spring/summer I think.  I used this a while ago in a "Sully" from Monsters Inc/Monsters University mani with Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Grape Shifter on top and it was my favorite mani I did in a long time.  I forgot to take pictures of it (d'oh!) but next time I do it I will be sure to blog.

Silk Onyx.  2 Coats, black base shimmery silver throughout.  This is a really cool color, when it dries it kind of reminds me of a pencil, if that makes any sense! The color is beautiful and the finish is beautiful as well, the silver shimmer throughout catches the sun really nicely even if it is a satin finish.

Go Gold.  2 Coats, shimmery light gold.  This is really beautiful too, its much more glittery and in your face on the nails than the other 2 are, I feel like.  Its still a gorgeous color but I feel like I'm wearing a ground up coin on my nails or something, I don't know.  Something about this color I'm just not feeling.  I feel like the other 2 colors I own has shimmer that's a little more subtle, but not this guy.  Even with the satin finish, the brightness is definitely visible.

Overall, the formula on these guys is really good.  Really smooth and easy to put on and wear.  They also look great with a matte topcoat to make them completely matte, and they also look great with a glossy topcoat to make it a more traditional polish.  Wear time is pretty decent on these alone, but if a matte topcoat is put over it it lasts longer and the matte topcoats kind of satin out after a day or two of use.   I think that's about it!

Sation - Unicorns are Teal

Hey Guys!

Today's post is a polish from my most recent favorite color family... teal! Its also from a brand that's not super well-known to me, but I'm starting to dabble in to it.

Unicorns are Teal. 2 coats. Perfect teal creme. I love this color! Its a perfect teal. Formula is wonderful. The only other Sation polish I have came in a glam bag. Its a really sheer peachy-skin tone color. It doesn't really suit my skin tone so I don't really wear it. This one, I will get so much use out of! I love this!!!

My First Spa Ritual Polishes!

Hey Guys!!

Today I have swatches of my first 3 Spa Ritual polishes. I got these at Marshalls for $3.99 each and since I liked all the colors and have been meaning to try out this brand, I decided to go for it! Here we go:

Dreams Becoming Reality. 2 Coats. Deep teal. I love this kind of color. This is one of my favorite color families... the dark turquoise/teal color. This was among one of the nicest I've worked with formula wise. 2 coats for full opacity. Super easy to work with!

Shoot for the Stars. 2 coats. Medium red-toned purple. Super pretty color. I actually don't think I have anything this shade in my collection. Beautiful formula just like Dreams Becoming Reality.

Silver. 2 coats. Not the most exciting name ever, but it does the job of describing it. Great formula for a straight up silver. Not anything super unique or exciting about this color... but I love silvers!

Overall, I'm super happy with my first Spa Ritual experience. If you're a fan of this brand of have been meaning to try it out.. check your local Marshalls or TJ Maxx first... they might have a few of these you can try out for cheap!

OPI - Thanks a Windmillion

Hey guys! This week all posts are scheduled because on top of my full time school schedule, 2 jobs, and workout schedule, I'm on crew for a musical at my school and its eating up all my time. This is the first of my scheduled posts!

Just wanted to thank everyone for hanging in there with me for the last couple of months while I've been a really bad blogger. My schedule is ridiculously crazy and I barely have time to sleep. Thank you all!

Okay, on to today's post. This is one of the two colors I got from the Holland collection from OPI. This was actually a birthday present from Miss Princess Mari. (Check out her blog!). Both photos are under artificial light because it was a rainy day when I did my nails this color.

Thanks a Windmillion is a light sea foam green creme. 2 coats. This is a lot like Mermaid's Tears but its definitely murkier. I love the dusty/murky kind of colors so this is definitely a favorite! Formula was typical of OPI cremes. Easy to apply, dries fast. No complaints on this one... and its different enough from Mermaid's Tears to justify having both ;)!

L'Oreal - Club Prive

Good morning! Today I have a new drugstore nail polish that recently came out. Its the L'Oreal Color Riche nail polishes. I picked up one just to try them out. Swatches and review below:

Club Prive. 2 coats. Seafoam green/turquoise creme. I love this color. It reminds me a lot of Essie's Turquoise and Caicos with WAY better formula. This was a pretty easy 2 coats for me and it dried pretty quickly. Overall I'm pretty impressed with this one I might have to pick up some other colors from this line.

So today I was planning on working on some Broadway looks and swatching but Southern California decided to be rainy and gloomy today so I guess that won't be happening. *sad*

Current Mani: Summer in January!

So, It is currently 80 degrees where I live and its been unseasonably hot for the last few days. It really feels like summer in So-Cal so I decided to do summer nails!

China Glaze Turned up Turquoise with Art You Wondering By Finger Paints on the accent nail. I love Turned up Turquoise. Its a neon teal, what's not to love?? This is a combination I would usually reserve for mid-July, but since it feels more like summer than the dead of winter, I feel like this is appropriate! As much as I like this mani, I really wish it was cold. I like cold weather better than hot. Its supposed to start cooling down this weekend and I'm really excited for that.

Currently on my nails: Ski Teal We Drop and Gone Gonzo

Just finished doing a manicure first I started off with just Ski Teal We Drop but then I thought that one of the new Muppets glitters would be perfect as an accent... here's what I got:

OPI Ski Teal We Drop. Basecoat, 2 coats, Seche Vite.

Ski Teal We Drop, 2 coats + 1 coat of Gone Gonzo on accent nail. Ski Teal We Drop is a dark teal color. I just picked this up today. I've been wanting a color like this for a while and I love it. Its fantastic! After I did my mani, I thought that Gone Gonzo would look awesome as an accent. Since it currently feels like summer in So-Cal (It was 101 yesterday!) I didn't want to stick with just Ski Teal We Drop though its a perfect fall color, it doesn't feel like fall so Gone Gonzo really helps liven it up! I love this combo!
