NYX Wicked Lippies - Risque

Hi everyone! Its been a really long time, I know. I keep promising I'll be good about posting and I never do it. Whoops.

Anyways, its one of my new years' resolutions to start posting more and making more videos so I will be doing that.  I'm starting with a fabulous green lipstick.  As you  may or may  not know, my birthday is on St. Patty's Day and I kinda wanted this lipstick when I first saw it, but I never went out and got it.  The other day I was with a friend at Ulta and I happened to see the (completely picked over) display, and I decided to pick up the green lipstick for character looks and for my birthday! I will post a pic after my birthday with this actually on my lips, until then... a hand swatch will have to do!

Risque is a really gorgeous shimmery green "frost" lipstick. Its a perfect emerald green. Formula is smooth and it applies surprisingly well (I have problem lips and generally lipstick is a pain to apply). Its not particularly long wearing, but that's okay.  Its great for quick looks, costume looks or special occasions.

As always, thanks for reading!

NOTD: Model's Own Emerald Black

Hey everyone!

Today's NOTD is a color I love. I felt like doing something a little darker for fall even though it's so freakin hot here still.

Emerald black. 3 coats. Black and deep Emerald duo chrome. The formula on this guy is awesome, I just did 3 thin coats because I sucked at the first coat so I had to even it out.  This color is so gorgeous and pretty perfect for fall. Rumor has it Forever 21 will start carrying this brand, though I haven't much looked in to it.

BH Cosmetics Jenni Rivera Palette - Swatches + Review

Hey guys!!

Today's post is a review and of the BH Cosmetics Jenni Rivera Palette. I decided on this palette when I wanted to try BH Cosmetics because its a "unique" palette to BH, meaning that the exact copy isn't also on Coastal Scents and Sedona Lace (like the 88 eyeshadow palettes). None of the colors have specific names, so they will just be swatched in order as to how they appear in the palette.

Swatches of Row 1

Swatches of Row 2

Swatches of Row 3

Swatches of Blush Row
Overall, this palette is Okay. The pigmentation just isn't there for some of the colors. The matte shades and matte blushes especially are powdery and chalky. Some of the colors, on the other hand, are ridiculously pigmented and smooth and very nice! The bad isn't anything I can't work with, however. Some of the colors work better wet rather than dry (as demonstrated in the video below), but I think overall all these colors are useable and this palette is great for a quick look and to travel with. This palette is on sale now for 50% off, for that price, I think this palette is completely worth it! I got it for the reduced price, and I'm very happy with the product considering the price I paid!

These are the looks I achieved with this palette. Can you tell that I love the green in this palette?

Check out my video below for a review and demo/tutorial showing how I got the second look above!

Zoya Opal. Green Flakie!!! 2 coats over black. I love flakies and I love green. This has a blue duochrome to it too so it is perfect. I have zero problems with this. Formula is great, dry time is great... this thing is just overall great! I really can't say much more about it other than you should get it if you haven't already!

Icing Magnetix Green

Today's post is one of the Icing Magnetix colors... This is a green and I can't seem to find a name... so if there is one and I missed it... I'm sorry!

Artificial Light

2 coats. I looove this color! I used the magnet on the cap for the ring and index finger, and for the ring and pinky I used the China Glaze magnet to see how it would work on this and it worked pretty great. I love how it looks with its own magnet the best, though! The design appeared almost instantly when I put the magnets over it. Works so well, dries fast, and looks great. I'm in love. I'm going to have to get more of these!

OPI - Thanks a Windmillion

Hey guys! This week all posts are scheduled because on top of my full time school schedule, 2 jobs, and workout schedule, I'm on crew for a musical at my school and its eating up all my time. This is the first of my scheduled posts!

Just wanted to thank everyone for hanging in there with me for the last couple of months while I've been a really bad blogger. My schedule is ridiculously crazy and I barely have time to sleep. Thank you all!

Okay, on to today's post. This is one of the two colors I got from the Holland collection from OPI. This was actually a birthday present from Miss Princess Mari. (Check out her blog!). Both photos are under artificial light because it was a rainy day when I did my nails this color.

Thanks a Windmillion is a light sea foam green creme. 2 coats. This is a lot like Mermaid's Tears but its definitely murkier. I love the dusty/murky kind of colors so this is definitely a favorite! Formula was typical of OPI cremes. Easy to apply, dries fast. No complaints on this one... and its different enough from Mermaid's Tears to justify having both ;)!

Thanks for reading, until next time!

China Glaze Agro

Hunger Games! So I finally got the book but I haven't started reading it yet... been too damn busy! Either way... I'm loving the China Glaze Hunger Games collection... today's post is another color from there!

Direct Sunlight
Shade
Artificial Light
China Glaze Agro. Metallic olive green with gold shimmer. 2 coats. I love greens so its no surprise that I love this one! My friend thinks this color is hideous but its one of those colors you either love or hate, kind of like China Glaze Trendsetter... well I love this. When I first saw the press-release this was definitely one of the ones that jumped out at me so I had to have it. Formula was pretty great. Could have done with 1 coat, but I've become a 2-coater type of person at least so I had to do the second coat. I especially love this in the sun!

Thanks for reading, until next time!

Glitter Removal - Foil Method

Happy almost St. Patrick's Day! :) My birthday is tomorrow and since I won't be around to post... I have 3 posts for you tonight! The first one is something I've gotten a lot of questions about from non-polish-aholics, so I figured I would make a post about it. I will be removing Model's Own Emerald City which if you don't know is a super chunky green glitter.

Before
First, cut out 10 squares of foil, big enough to go around your your finger and cover the tip of it completely.

Next, soak (I mean, SOAK) a cotton ball and put it on your nail.

Wrap the foil around the nail and then over the top of it.

Alien Fingers!
Leave the foil/remover on your nail for 5 or 10 minutes depending on how thick and chunky the polish is. I left it on for 10 minutes on this particular mani. After 10 minutes, remove the foil with a little pressure and a twisting motion to help the polish come off faster and easier.... and voila!

After
Hope you guys learned something if you didn't already know this method and if you did, thanks for sticking around until the end! I have a couple more posts for tonight, stick around!

Thanks for reading, until next time!

Barry M Spring Green

Hey there! Today I'm continuing my green for St. Patrick's Day week with yet another swap polish I got from my international swap!

Natural Light - Direct Sunlight

Natural Light - Shade

Artificial Light
Barry M Spring Green is a really gorgeous minty green creme. This is 2 coats, no topcoat. The formula on this was pretty fantastic. Pretty easy to work with. I'm fairly certain I have something similar in my collection but I'm keeping this because its a Barry M ha! I really like this and the other Barry Ms I have tried (swatches coming soon!) I don't have much more to say so I'll keep it short and sweet!

Thanks for reading, until next time!
