On Hiatus

Good morning everyone,

I'm so sorry I haven't had a chance to update lately. My life has been kind of crazy lately and I just started school back up so I haven't had the time to do any blogging. I haven't even bought nail polish in nearly a month. I'm also flat broke from having to pay for a bunch of things so I can't even buy nail polish if I wanted to. So I guess I need to go on hiatus from blogging here, at least. I do have a personal blog/weight loss blog that I update every day if anyone is interested. I'll put the link at the end of this post.

There's a couple of posts I will be putting up while I'm on hiatus. I'm planning on posting a swap haul when I get my package from Rachel  but that's probably not for a little while. I may also post a Julep haul for March, but that will be my last Julep Maven box for a few months if not for good. My financial situation at the moment sucks and I really need to cut back.

So, I guess that's it. Thanks to everyone for sticking around and I promise the hiatus isn't permanent, I just need to get my life together and get in to the stride of school and I'll be back! :)

25 Days of Broadway: Day 5 - Spiderman (fail)

First off, I need to say right off the bat... I hate Spiderman: Turn off the Dark. HATE. It is the worst musical ever and I will not be posting a video for it, but none the less I thought it would make a cute nail art manicure. Well, I was wrong. I really hate how this came out but that was part of this challenge. To learn and grow despite any fails. So I decided to post it anyways.

Thumb: China Glaze Blue Year's Eve, China Glaze Lightning Bolt, Sally Hansen Cherry Smash

L'Oreal - Club Prive

Good morning! Today I have a new drugstore nail polish that recently came out. Its the L'Oreal Color Riche nail polishes. I picked up one just to try them out. Swatches and review below:

Club Prive. 2 coats. Seafoam green/turquoise creme. I love this color. It reminds me a lot of Essie's Turquoise and Caicos with WAY better formula. This was a pretty easy 2 coats for me and it dried pretty quickly. Overall I'm pretty impressed with this one I might have to pick up some other colors from this line.

So today I was planning on working on some Broadway looks and swatching but Southern California decided to be rainy and gloomy today so I guess that won't be happening. *sad*

Little Mermaid inspired Nail Polish ring!

When my friend Mariel was over at my house the other day and saw this design on the SE image plates, she immediately thought of the Little Mermaid, so today when I was bored, I decided to make a ring inspired by the Little Mermaid for her as a thanks for being my workout buddy and this is what I came up with:

Salon Express plate from the CVS kit
Jesse's Girl Mermaid's Lagoon
China Glaze Gothic Lolita

I used the seahorse to signify the sea and I used the teal/purple for Ariel's colors :) I really love how this turned out and I might just have to make one for myself!

Zoya Tanzy

Today I have one of the two colors I got from Zoya's two free nail polish offer :)

Tanzy. 2 coats. Glass Flecks orange. I really love this color and I've had my eye on it for a little while so as soon as I read about Zoya's free polish promo, I had to get it! I'm so glad I did, I have a feeling this color is going to live on my toes this spring/summer! Yay nail polish! :)

Nail Polish Rings!!

I went to Downtown LA yesterday to the fashion district to go shopping and pick up some new accessories. While I was there I decided to go to the jewelry district and check out some bead shops to see if I could find some supplies to make jewelry from nail polish and I found some stuff! I made a few rings... pictures below! :)

Finger Paints Twisted and Wet n' Wild Black Creme

China Glaze Lorelai's Tiara

China Glaze Mistletoe Kisses

Milani Hi-Tech

Color Club Worth the Risque and Revvvolution

And this one I made for my friend Rachel from The Polished Criminails. We were talking about them last night and I told her I'd make her one to throw in to her mega-swap box that I'll be sending out in a couple of weeks!

What do you guys think? Do you like this nail polish jewelry trend?

This musical is awesome! When I first heard it was in development when I was in high school, I though it would be the worst idea for a musical ever, but after I heard it I was hooked and then I finally got around to seeing it and it was so epically amazing!!!

Chip on my Shoulder
Laura Bell Bundy as Elle Woods and Christian Borle as Emmett

Check out SMASH Monday night at 10 on NBC where Christian stars as musical composer Tom. Smash is awesome!! Everyone check it out!!!

Julep Maven February 2012 It Girl Swatches

Good morning! If you saw my post yesterday about me receiving my julep box, here's the swatches of this month's It Girl box! Make sure to check out that post for a video of me opening my box too!

On to the swatches!

Rachel. 2 coats. Its described as a "warm rich copper shimmer" and that's pretty much what it is. Its really pretty! It applied really well and looks gorgeous in the sun. I was a little afraid of this one on my skin tone but it turned out to be okay!

Elizabeth. 2 coats. Described as "midnight blue with a hint of shimmer". The shimmer is a really like pink and blue from what I can tell. Its really, really subtle. This one also went on without any problems. 2 coats for full opacity. Really like this color, but I hate dark colors like this because they look black in most lights. *sigh*

Oscar. 3 coats. Its described as "ultra chic multi-dimensional gold glitter" I don't think its multi-dimensional... its just gold glitter in a clear base. Nothing too special. The formula was really thick. Thinner might really help this bad boy out, but I really didn't enjoy the application or the way it looked. I'll have to layer it over something to see, but on its own I don't like it.

25 Days of Broadway: Day 2 - RENT
