NOTD: China Glaze But Of Corpse

I Hi everyone! Phew! It's been a whole 6 months. Yikes. Life has been pretty crazy but it's almost Halloween! My favorite time of the year, and with that comes a new Halloween collection favorite!

My NOTD today is China Glaze But of Corpse from the Apocalypse collection.

But Of Corpse. 2 coats. Shimmery green with matte black glitter. The formula is pretty fantastic, 2 easy coats but it does dry matte/slightly textured so I added Seche Vite and Gelous on top to make it nice and glassy smooth. Such a beautiful color but then again I am a sucker for greens!

Textured Polish Spam: Swatches + Review.

Hey Guys!

Today's post is all about textured polishes. I know, I know, I have said before how much I hate this trend and all that, but I decided to give the trend another shot and bought a bunch of different brands, colors, and types of textured polishes to see if any of them would grow on me enough to actually wear them. This post today is about all those polishes I hauled and what I think of them all! Lots to get through, so here we go!

First up, Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Collection. I got 4 out of the (I think) 8 colors in this collection.

Natural Light, Direct Sunlight

Natural Light, Shade
Sour Apple. 2 Coats. Mint green.

Natural Light, Shade

Natural Light, Direct Sunlight
Cotton Candies. 2 Coats. Bubblegum Pink

Natural Light, Direct Sunlight

Natural Light, Shade
Razzleberry. 2 Coats. Medium blue. Warning: This color stains like crazy!

Natural Light, Direct Sunlight

Natural Light, Shade
Lick-O-Rich. 2 Coats. Black. TERRIBLE name! Kinda sounds dirty... either that or my mind is in the gutter... which it probably is!

That's it for the Sugar Coat colors I picked up. These colors were really opaque. I used 2 coats on them and waited for it to completely dry to its rough texture. These weren't too hard to work with, and overall I like how they went on. I still really dislike how they feel on my finger tips though. I did experiment with adding some topcoat and after one coat of topcoat, the texture was tolerable and it still had a textured look to it. I might be able to wear them that way!

Next, I picked up some of the China Glaze Texture Collection colors.

Natural Light, Shade

 Natural Light, Direct Sunlight
In the Rough. 2 coats. Chartreuse-y yellowey/green color. I really love the color on this!

Natural Light, Direct Sunlight

Natural Light, Shade
Itty, Bitty & Gritty. 2 Coats. Pinky Coral.

Natural Light, Direct Sunlight

Natural Light, Shade
Of Coarse!. 2 Coats. Mediumish Blue

That's it for the CG Texture collection colors I got. Unline the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat, these were thicker and harder to apply than the Sally Hansen. I'm really liking the Sally Hansen formula over the China Glaze ones, I just found these a pain to apply... especially In the Rough which is really sad because it was my favorite of the colors.

Next, a couple of Julie G Gumdrop Collection polishes.

Natural Light, Direct Sunlight

Natural Light, Shade
Rock Candy. Dark green gritty glitter and small hex silver glitter.

Natural Light, Direct Sunlight

Natural Light, Shade
Blueberry Fizz. 2 Coats. Light-ish Blue gritty glitter with small silver hex glitter.

Those are the 2 Julie G that I bought. These were okay. They just feel like gritty glitter. These are really gorgeous. I might go and pick up one more. I find that when I slather it with topcoat, I love how they look and feel!

Last polish I picked up in the textured haul is a color from the OPI The Bond Girls Collection.

Natural Light, Direct Sunlight

Natural Light, Shade
Tiffany Case. 2 Coats. Gorgeous turquoise with small turquoise hex glitter. I love this color so much! I hate that its a liquid sand color, but I love this color enough to suck it up and just topcoat and Gelous the heck out of it in order to wear it!

So that's it for my texture polish spam. I hope you guys enjoyed it! While I really dislike the textured trend, they make for some pretty colors that when worked with, I can definitely wear like regular polish!

NOTD: Neon + Stamping

Hey everyone!

Today's NOTD was something I came by by accident. I knew I wanted to do something neon because I'm obsessed with neons lately (check out my Summer Neon Gradient Tutorial) so I just started painting my nails with the green, but I had this idea to stamp a neon over white to see what it would look like.... this is what I came up with.

For this manicure I used China Glaze Kiwi Cool-ada, Sally Hansen Whirlwind White, and China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy to stamp with. I actually really like how this turned out! I used one of the Salon Express stamping plates for the flower design.

What do you think? Are you obsessed with any types of shades lately?

Update on Liquid Sand + NOTW

So, I changed my nail polish last night. I managed to survive a few days and a Disneyland trip with the Liquid Sand on. It drove me nuts, but I found that as the days went by, much like matte nail polish, it started to kind of turn in to a satin-y finish and almost felt smoother... or I got used to it. Either way, the grittiness got better but I still hate these polishes. I'm not sure if I will actually ever wear this again, but I probably will with lots of topcoat over it.... we'll see how it goes!

I had some time to kill last night and decided to do a Valentine's Day mani and then I realized that my best friend still has my stamping plates... and since I'm terrible at free-hand nail art, I decided I wouldn't try to draw anything on my nails freehand. I just got a bunch of Valentine's colors and mixed them together and  got somewhat of decent Valentine's mani. Its not the greatest, but with the little time I had, it works for me! Here's what I came up with:

Thumb -  OPI If you Moust, You Moust with Sally Hansen HD Byte over it
Index - OPI Excuse Moi
Middle - Color Club Hot Like Lava with Essie A Cut Above
Ring - Seche Red with China Glaze Ring in the Red
Pinky - OPI If you Moust, You Moust with Color Club Tru Passion over it

Icing Magnetix Green

Today's post is one of the Icing Magnetix colors... This is a green and I can't seem to find a name... so if there is one and I missed it... I'm sorry!

Artificial Light

Natural Light

Natural Light
2 coats. I looove this color! I used the magnet on the cap for the ring and index finger, and for the ring and pinky I used the China Glaze magnet to see how it would work on this and it worked pretty great. I love how it looks with its own magnet the best, though! The design appeared almost instantly when I put the magnets over it. Works so well, dries fast, and looks great. I'm in love. I'm going to have to get more of these!

China Glaze - Luxe and Lush

Today's post is more China Glaze Hunger Games :)

Artificial Light

Artificial Light

Natural Light

Natural Light
Luxe and Lush. 1 coat over black. This is the same kind of flakie as Essie Shine of the Times and Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and all those, but this is shredded flakes. This is fantastic. I love that this is huge and chunky. Looks great over black, can't wait to play with it over other things when I finally have time time!

China Glaze - Smoke and Ashes

Today's post is another color I picked up from the Hunger Games Collection from China Glaze.

Artificial Light

Natural Light

Natural Light
Smoke and Ashes. 2 coats. This is a gorgeous black with tiny green glitter. I really love this is the sunlight. It looks black in the shade, but in the sunlight it comes alive with the green. Formula is great, and dries fast. I really love these kinds of colors that have a subtle hint of color. Definitely a fave!

China Glaze Prismatics Collection

Hey everyone! Today's post is the entire Prismatics collection from China Glaze! Some of these are really hard to describe so please bear with me!!

Artificial Light
Natural Light

Natural Light
Optical Illusion. This looks to be aqua micro glitter with a slight purple around the edges packed with multicolor glitter throughout. This is hands down my favorite of this collection... it reminds me of mermaids! This is 3 coats. Formula is great. Dries super fast, but this is a gritty glitter so if you have Gelous, I recommend using it with these!

Natural Light

Natural Light
Polarized. Silver microglitter with multicolor medium glitter throughout. There's no duo in this one.. its just silver with party glitter. I really like this despite its lack of duo that the rest of its siblings have. This is 3 coats, dries fast and like the others is gritty.

Artificial Light

Natural Light

Natural Light

Natural Light
Liquid Crystal. This one is one of the stronger duochromes in this collection. I swatched it over black on the ring finger to show off that duochrome. Its mostly blue but it shifts to a lilac/purple kind of color. This is one of the sheer ones in this collection but works amazingly over black. This is 3 coats alone and 1 coat over black on the ring finger.

Artificial Light

Natural Light

Natural Light
Prism. This is a purple/pink/blue duochrome with the multicolor glitter. This is 3 coats and 1 coat over black on the ring finger. This one is also kind of sheer, but I'm sure I could have built it up to be opaque I was just too lazy too -_-'. It looks gorgeous over black. I love it!!

Artificial Light

Natural Light

Natural Light

Natural Light
Full Spectrum. 3 coats, 1 coat over black on ring finger. This is kind of a baby pink with a purple duochrome and the multicolor glitter. I really like this one too... I'm just not much of a pink person!

Artificial Light

Natural Light

Natural Light
Ray-diant. 3 coats, and 1 coat over black on ring finger. This is probably one of my favorites too! This is a greenish gold shimmer packed with that multicolor glitter. It looks breathtaking over black and I'm absolutely in love with this!! Then again I love gold/green duochromes!

This collection overall impressed me more than I thought it would, especially when I swatched them over black! Good collection for glitter lovers!
