NOTD: Model's Own Emerald Black

Hey everyone!

Today's NOTD is a color I love. I felt like doing something a little darker for fall even though it's so freakin hot here still.

Emerald black. 3 coats. Black and deep Emerald duo chrome. The formula on this guy is awesome, I just did 3 thin coats because I sucked at the first coat so I had to even it out.  This color is so gorgeous and pretty perfect for fall. Rumor has it Forever 21 will start carrying this brand, though I haven't much looked in to it.

NOTD: Color Club The Uptown

Hi everyone!

Today on the blog I have a polish that is a tad controversial at the moment and highly sought after. Recently, Color Club has changed the formula of its popular color, The Uptown. Once nail polish addicts caught wind of this, a frenzy began for every last bottle of the old formula. Yours truly also caught old formula fever and I scoured the racks aty local beauty supply until... Success! I found one lonely bottle of it.

The Uptown. 2 coats over Orly Charged Up. The Uptown is a gorgeous duo chrome flakie in a purple base. So much  flakie goodness it's insane with a really great formula.

So ladies, if you have yet to find the original formula, keep searching! Try Bed Bath and Beyond, a lot of people have been having success there.

NOTD: China Glaze But Of Corpse

I Hi everyone! Phew! It's been a whole 6 months. Yikes. Life has been pretty crazy but it's almost Halloween! My favorite time of the year, and with that comes a new Halloween collection favorite!

My NOTD today is China Glaze But of Corpse from the Apocalypse collection.

But Of Corpse. 2 coats. Shimmery green with matte black glitter. The formula is pretty fantastic, 2 easy coats but it does dry matte/slightly textured so I added Seche Vite and Gelous on top to make it nice and glassy smooth. Such a beautiful color but then again I am a sucker for greens!

Revlon Sun Candy - Swatches + Review

Hi Everyone!!

Today on the blog I have swatches and reviews of 2 of the Revlon Sun Candy nail polishes.  These are the same kind of concept as the Moon Candy, but brighter colors and glitter instead of flakies, at least from what I can tell.

Northern Lights. Direct sunlight. 2 coats of base polish, 2 coats of glitter.  Base color is a cerulean blue kind of a color while the glitter is an opal type of glitter in a translucent blue tinted base.  The base polish applied beautifully on this.  I really love this for sunny days, which is why I guess they're called "Sun Candy."

Sun Shower. Direct sunlight.  3 coats base polish, 2 coats glitter.  The base polish for this is a minty green, it was streakier than Northern Lights, it took 3 coats to get good coverage on the nail.  The glitter is the same as in Northern Lights, but its in a minty tinted base instead of blue.  Overall I think I like Northern Lights better because of its performance but I like this better because of its base color.  I'm a sucker for mint greens! Too bad its streaky and annoying!

Overall I think these are a cool concept.  I hope the other colors in this series are less streaky than Sun Shower and perform more like Northern Lights.

Sally Hansen Satin Glam Swatches + Review

Hiya!

Today on the blog I have swatches of 3 of the Satin Glam polishes from Sally Hansen.  These are really cool.  They're glittery polishes that dry to a satin finish (somewhere between matte and glossy). On to the pictures and review!

Teal Tulle. 2 Coats, Glittery teal.  This is my favorite of the ones I own. Its beautiful and even though it has a satin finish, it catches the sun beautifully! Definitely will be wearing this a lot this spring/summer I think.  I used this a while ago in a "Sully" from Monsters Inc/Monsters University mani with Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Grape Shifter on top and it was my favorite mani I did in a long time.  I forgot to take pictures of it (d'oh!) but next time I do it I will be sure to blog.

Silk Onyx.  2 Coats, black base shimmery silver throughout.  This is a really cool color, when it dries it kind of reminds me of a pencil, if that makes any sense! The color is beautiful and the finish is beautiful as well, the silver shimmer throughout catches the sun really nicely even if it is a satin finish.

Go Gold.  2 Coats, shimmery light gold.  This is really beautiful too, its much more glittery and in your face on the nails than the other 2 are, I feel like.  Its still a gorgeous color but I feel like I'm wearing a ground up coin on my nails or something, I don't know.  Something about this color I'm just not feeling.  I feel like the other 2 colors I own has shimmer that's a little more subtle, but not this guy.  Even with the satin finish, the brightness is definitely visible.

Overall, the formula on these guys is really good.  Really smooth and easy to put on and wear.  They also look great with a matte topcoat to make them completely matte, and they also look great with a glossy topcoat to make it a more traditional polish.  Wear time is pretty decent on these alone, but if a matte topcoat is put over it it lasts longer and the matte topcoats kind of satin out after a day or two of use.   I think that's about it!

Nicole by OPI Roughles - On What Grounds Swatches + Review

Hi everyone!

Today on the blog I have another textured polish.  This one I got in my March Glam Bag from Ipsy.  As you may know if you've read my blog before, I really dislike the textured thing.  I have to have glassy smooth nails at all times, so this whole textured trend is driving me nuts!! I did a post of a bunch of different kinds and different brands here figuring I would give a bunch a shot to try, still didn't like any of them.  But anywho, here is today's post (which is also my first Nicole by OPI polish *gasp*)

The name, "On What Grounds" actually perfect because it has some brown spots that remind me of coffee grounds.  The color of this is beautiful, as you can see it is a baby blue with dark blue and brown grit.  I love the base color and if it was dark blue and brown glitter instead of the textured thing I would probably wear it often.  This was 2 coats of the polish, I could have gotten away with one I think, but I missed a few spots and thought it would be good to even it out a little. Overall the formula isn't a problem, the color isn't a problem and it looks kinda cool, I really just can't handle my nails being rough!

If you like the textured trend, you might want to check these out.  I know there are a whole host of pastel colors of these out there, I just haven't sought them out and wouldn't have this if it wasn't for my Ipsy bag.

I'm Back + Hair Bows, Archery and Wedding Planning... Oh My!

Whew! Well, its been a while.

Long story short, I decided to take a couple of full time legal assistant jobs and they didn't work out for me.  They were sucking up too much of my time and making me miserable - I'm not meant for a desk job. I'm meant for freedom and creativity.  A few of you might think its foolish giving up a really good paying job for uncertainty, but I'm so happy now.  Especially because my bosses were a little not all there.

So what am I doing now? I started my own shop where I currently sell hair bows, I will in the future have jewelry, nail polish jewelry and maybe my own nail polish line.  Its something I've wanted to do for a very long time now.  Even though I haven't been blogging or doing videos as much, makeup and nail polish have still remained a passion of mine.  Below are some of the bows available at my shop, Enchanted Wares Boutique.

I'll be having more designs soon, as well as jewelry! I'm really excited about this venture!

So just in case starting a business and looking for a part time job wasn't enough, I'm starting to plan my wedding!! I'm getting married on July 9, 2015 at a small ceremony and then honeymooning at Walt Disney World!  I'll be doing updates and wedding blogs and vlogs as I plan.  Its going to be a big DIY kind of a wedding since we are on a limited budget and we really want most of the money to go to our Honeymoon.  The "us" time is more important than the party we throw for everyone else.

My wedding will be Tangled "I See the Light" Themed.  That song is pretty much perfect to describe our relationship and how we both kind of came alive when we met.  My fiance is amazing and totally okay with this whole thing :) I am giving him some concessions like letting him have half of the wedding cake to make it batman :D It is his wedding too, afterall.

Other than that, I took up Archery and I'm LOVING it.  Its very fun shooting pointy objects.  I'll also be doing some videos about that I think on my vlog channel.

So I think that's about it.  Would you guys be interested in wedding planning and wedding DIY posts here?
