Sally Hansen Satin Glam Swatches + Review

Hiya!

Today on the blog I have swatches of 3 of the Satin Glam polishes from Sally Hansen.  These are really cool.  They're glittery polishes that dry to a satin finish (somewhere between matte and glossy). On to the pictures and review!

Teal Tulle. 2 Coats, Glittery teal.  This is my favorite of the ones I own. Its beautiful and even though it has a satin finish, it catches the sun beautifully! Definitely will be wearing this a lot this spring/summer I think.  I used this a while ago in a "Sully" from Monsters Inc/Monsters University mani with Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Grape Shifter on top and it was my favorite mani I did in a long time.  I forgot to take pictures of it (d'oh!) but next time I do it I will be sure to blog.

Silk Onyx.  2 Coats, black base shimmery silver throughout.  This is a really cool color, when it dries it kind of reminds me of a pencil, if that makes any sense! The color is beautiful and the finish is beautiful as well, the silver shimmer throughout catches the sun really nicely even if it is a satin finish.

Go Gold.  2 Coats, shimmery light gold.  This is really beautiful too, its much more glittery and in your face on the nails than the other 2 are, I feel like.  Its still a gorgeous color but I feel like I'm wearing a ground up coin on my nails or something, I don't know.  Something about this color I'm just not feeling.  I feel like the other 2 colors I own has shimmer that's a little more subtle, but not this guy.  Even with the satin finish, the brightness is definitely visible.

Overall, the formula on these guys is really good.  Really smooth and easy to put on and wear.  They also look great with a matte topcoat to make them completely matte, and they also look great with a glossy topcoat to make it a more traditional polish.  Wear time is pretty decent on these alone, but if a matte topcoat is put over it it lasts longer and the matte topcoats kind of satin out after a day or two of use.   I think that's about it!

Lorac Pro Palette - Swatches + Review

Howdy!!

Today on the blog I have swatches of the Lorac Pro palette and a mini review.

All the names in this palette describe the color perfectly, so I won't be doing a color breakdown like I usually do. That being said, on to the pictures!!

I love how sleek and pretty this palette looks. The only downside to the packaging is that it gets really dirty, really quickly because of the finish. Its kind of a satin-y kind of finish to the cardboard  and it attracts dust and shadow like no other!

I love that this palette has one row of shimmer and one row of matte. Makes for a huge variety of looks that can be created!

The Matte Shades

The Shimmer Shades

All these shadows are beautiful and smooth, almost creamy even the matte shades (which really impressed me!). They are gorgeous and so easy to blend and I gotta say, I'll probably reach for this more than my Naked 2 Palette! My favorites in this palette are Gold, Slate, Black, Mauve and Sable (which I use for my eyebrows) Overall, its a beautiful and fantastic palette to work with! So happy I broke down and got it.

This palette is $42 and can be found at Ulta, Sephora, or loraccosmetics.com

China Glaze Stone Cold

Today's post is a fantastic matte polish that I love from the Hunger Games collection!

Natural Light - Direct Sunlight

Natural Light - Shade

Artificial Light

Natural Light - Direct Sunlight (W/ Topcoat)

Natural Light - Shade (W/ Topcoat)
Stone Cold from the new China Glaze Hunger Games Collection. Matte grey with silver glitter. I love this color! I especially love that its a matte color. Formula was great, did 2 quick coats just to fix a few things and of course a matte dries quickly so I love that! I put a coat of Seche Vite over this for the last 2 pictures and it looks great both ways! I knew this was one of the ones I wanted as soon as I saw the press release and I'm so glad I got it!

Thanks for reading, until next time!

Finger Paints Twisted + Matte

Hey there!

Today's post is a Finger Paints flakie that I can't get over how amazing it is... and I mattifyed it as an experiment and if its possible, I love it MORE!

Twisted by Finger Paints. 2 coats over 1 coat WNW Black Creme. First 2 pictures are normal and bottom 2 are matte (I used 1 coat of Hard Candy Mattely in Love). I didn't think I could possibly love Twisted any more until I made it matte. Holy cow it looks awesome! I can't stop staring at my nails. I'm in love.

Top 10 Fall Favorites: Day 2

Here's is today's Fall Favorite:

Revlon Emerald City (Matte Suede). 2 coats, no basecoat, no topcoat. This color is a suede finish... its not completely matte but its not glossy either. First picture is no flash, second is with flash. I love green. Its my favorite color. Any green any finish anything. Green is the best so of course, green has to be in my top 10. This color is perfect for fall because of the matte suede finish and its a dark emerald green. Its dark enough to be a good fall color but still colorful enough for my loud personality! LOVE!
