30 Days of Untrieds - Day 23

Good Morning! So I'm posing a challenge. I currently have 41 followers. If I can get 50 by Christmas, I will have a Christmas Day giveaway and if I can get 100 by the end of the year, I will have a huge New Year, New Polish giveaway. Think I can do it???? I need your help though!!

So... Today's post is a crackle... a GREEN crackle!

I picked this up not too long ago at Walgreens... didn't even know Pure Ice made crackle!

Pure Ice Crackle in Shattered. Yellow/Green crackle over 1 coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme. Its a lot more green in person than is showing up in the picture. I did a really thick coat of the crackle, and got the bigger chunks. I think this is great. It cracked really nicely and it was really cheap compared to other crackles (I think it was 3.99)... and its green! I only own 2 green crackles and neither one are from major companies... why is that?? hey China Glaze! OPI! Color Club! Make green crackle!!!! I really hope more green crackle starts to appear.

Thanks for reading, until next time!

Currently on my nails: Foiled Crackle

The weekend is almost over... back to work and class tomorrow. I'm taking a break from reading for my Women's History class and of course I had to do my nails. Sorry for the odd lighting but its almost 10 pm here also, sorry for the messy cuticles... I'm too lazy to fix it and a shower in the morning will clean those right up... anywho here's what I came up with:

Color Club Cold Metal (2 coats) with China Glaze Oxidized Aqua on top. Cold Metal is from the foiled collection. I'll have a post up about that collection soon! So what do you think? Blue enough? I'm actually surprised that I love how this came out even though OA didn't crackle as much as I hoped it would. I'm really impatient so I know I didn't wait long enough.

That's it for now... back to reading about Russian immigrants in the slums. Until next time!

Nail art experiment: Mixed Manicure

I've been seeing the mixed manicure trend growing lately so I figured I'd experiment. Here's what I came up with:

Thumb: China Glaze - For Audrey
Pointer: OPI - Skull and Glossbones, China Glaze - Cracked Concrete
Middle: OPI - Mermaid's Tears (base color), Stranger Tides (Top Color)
Ring: OPI - Bring on the Bling
Pinky: OPI - Mermaid's Tears (base), Skull and Glossbones and China Glaze - For Audrey (Polka Dots)

What do you think?

Currently on my nails: Jade Jump, Antiqued Gold

Did my nails again today after doing some experimenting (coming up in the next post). Here's what I have on now:

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Jade Jump with Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Antiqued Gold

The Insta-Dri line is one of my all time favorite nail polishes. They do dry insanely quickly and they are really opaque. They work fantastically. As far as the Crackle Overcoat, this particular color is kind of sheer but it looks pretty good over the Jade Jump color. I actually really like this combo.

That's it for now... next post is about nail art!

Guest fingers: My friend's mani :)

So today I bring you guest fingers... my friend Ariel is spending the night and we're catching up (since I haven't seen her in over a year) and she wanted to do her nails so here's what she came up with after rummaging through my stash:

OPI Turquoise Shatter over Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Sonic Boom (Orly Bonder + 1 coat each + Revlon Quick Dry Topcoat)

I think it looks pretty cool... as she said, it reminded her of Spiderman and I agree! I love the Insta-Dri line because it literally dries so fast. The turquoise OPI shatter is a really unique color but I still like how the China Glaze crackles work so much better!

Anyways, that's it for now... off to eat ice cream and watch romantic comedies.... first up: My Big Fat Greek Wedding! Goodnight!
