Update on Liquid Sand + NOTW

So, I changed my nail polish last night. I managed to survive a few days and a Disneyland trip with the Liquid Sand on. It drove me nuts, but I found that as the days went by, much like matte nail polish, it started to kind of turn in to a satin-y finish and almost felt smoother... or I got used to it. Either way, the grittiness got better but I still hate these polishes. I'm not sure if I will actually ever wear this again, but I probably will with lots of topcoat over it.... we'll see how it goes!

I had some time to kill last night and decided to do a Valentine's Day mani and then I realized that my best friend still has my stamping plates... and since I'm terrible at free-hand nail art, I decided I wouldn't try to draw anything on my nails freehand. I just got a bunch of Valentine's colors and mixed them together and  got somewhat of decent Valentine's mani. Its not the greatest, but with the little time I had, it works for me! Here's what I came up with:

Thumb -  OPI If you Moust, You Moust with Sally Hansen HD Byte over it
Index - OPI Excuse Moi
Middle - Color Club Hot Like Lava with Essie A Cut Above
Ring - Seche Red with China Glaze Ring in the Red
Pinky - OPI If you Moust, You Moust with Color Club Tru Passion over it

30 Days of Untrieds - Day 24

Today's post is another color from Essie's new Luxeffects collection... a gold flakie!

Sunlight

Shade

Sunlight
Essie As Gold As It Gets. 2 coats over 1 coat Wet n Wild Black Creme. Gold Flakie. I really like this and I have some awesome holiday ideas for this :) I'm glad I was able to find this one last bottle at my nail supply place! Shine of the Times is still my favorite from this collection, but this is definitely gorgeous!

Thanks for reading, until next time!

Currently on my nails: Mermaid effect

My current manicure kind of reminds me of a mermaid, hence the title. Check it out:

Sally Hansen Jade Jump 2 coats, with one coat of Essie Shine of the Times on top. Shine of the Times is a flakie multichrome... dupe to Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and Nubar 2010. I love this combination. In certain lights, shine looks orange and green simultaneously, and it really reminds me of all the colors a mermaid's fin flashes. Love this!

30 Days of Untrieds - Day 4

Today's color I've had for a few months and have been putting off trying. I'll explain after the picture.

Turquoise and Caicos by Essie. 3 coats. Love the color, hate the formula. I really just don't like the Essie formula. I have tried 3 other colors and I still have issues with the formula, which is why I've been putting off trying this one. I loved the color so I was *hoping* the formula was good, but it was hard to work with. Is there a trick to Essie polishes that I'm missing? Anyone have any idea?? I would love to wear this more often but I just can't put myself through the application.

Anyways, Thanks for reading and until next time!
