Currently on my nails: Silver Sweep, Fairy Dust

Good Morning!

Today I woke up with the strong urge to do my nails so that's exactly what I did! Here's what's on my nails today:

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Silver Sweep with China Glaze Fairy Dust on top. Basecoat, 1 coat Silver Sweep, 2 coats Fairy Dust, Seche Vite Topcoat. Silver Sweep is just a regular chrome silver color. I love the Insta-Dri line. They dry pretty much instantly and for most colors, its opaque in just one coat. Fairy Dust I got last week and I hadn't actually tried it until now and I must say I'm absolutely in love. I have a couple of holographic glitter topcoats besides this one but this one the holographic glitter is so fine that it looks awesome. The formula was a little bit thick, but I'm sure thinner will fix that.

Here's a couple of bottle pictures:
 Fairy Dust, Flash

Fairy Dust, No Flash

I didn't change my toes this morning. Most because I'm still obsessed with Flip Flop Fantasy and I don't really want to take it off!

Thanks for reading!

Back to School manicure: Mermaid's Tears w/ Stranger Tides

So, today is the first day back to class... luckily I don't have class until 1:30 so I have some down time... what better way to kill time then a mani/pedi? :) Here's what I got on today:

OPI Mermaid's Tears. Base Coat, 2 coats, Seche Vite Topcoat.
Ring Finger: Stranger Tides polka dots
With Flash

OPI Mermaid's Tears. Base Coat, 2 coats, Seche Vite Topcoat.
Ring Finger: Stranger Tides polka dots
No Flash

I love the murky colors in the OPI Pirates of the Carribean collection and these 2 are my absolute favorites. The formula is great, really opaque and creamy. Quick dry time especially with Seche Vite.

On my toes is my favorite for this summer, Flip Flop Fantasy from China Glaze... only about a month left in the official summer season so as long as its hot in So-Cal... I will be wearing this color!!!

Currently on my nails: Ivanka

Today's post is from Zoya.

Zoya Ivanka. Basecoat, 3 coats, Out the Door Topcoat. This is a gorgeous sparkly green color with gold flecks. This and Charla are my absolute favorite colors from Zoya. The coverage was good. The only reason I opted for 3rd coat is because I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my nails and I felt like a 3rd coat would really even it out but 2 coats was opaque. Dry time is really fantastic. Overall I love this color!!! Any thoughts? Now I gotta decide if this is going to be my first day of class color or not!

BTW, on my toes today I have Passion Fruit from Orly but I didn't want to take a picture of my feet... its a beautiful pinkish coraly red... I love it!

Well I guess that's it for now!

Currently on my nails: The Real Teal

Here's what I just got done painting on :)

The Real Teal by Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear. Basecoat, 2 coats, Seche Vite Topcoat. Top picture is with flash and bottom picture is no flash. This color is a gorgeous teal with teal shimmer. This is actually the first time I've worn this color but I've had it for a couple of weeks. I love this color... its beautiful I dunno why it took me so long to try it on! I'll definitely be using this a lot. LOVE it!

I'm getting together ideas and supplies for some new nail art and blogs that will be coming soon.

Ulta Neon Minis

Today's post is these Ulta Neons. I got these from Traci over at http://the-trace-face-philes.blogspot.com/. I also got OPI RENT from her but I haven't really used it or experimented with it too much to post about it yet. I really just wanted it because I'm a major RENT head (theater geek... yeah!) So without further ado... here's the neon minis.

From Top Left to Right: Sunbathing Beauty, Beach Bum,
Bottom Left to Right: Bananarama, Surfer Girl.
2 coats for all, no top coat. I really love these colors... alot! my only problem is the formula. I actually thinned them some after I swatched them and they seem to be working better but yeah. As you can see, Beach Bum and Bananarama are really streaky. I wanted to keep them all at 2 coats each to show any difference in formula or streaky-ness. They all dry completely matte but they look very gorgeous with topcoat as well. I think I will definitely get adequate use of these for the rest of the summer. They're gorgeous enough for me to be able to put up with the formula issues.

China Glaze Metro: Trendsetter and Midtown Magic

Today's post is about 2 more colors from China Glaze's Metro collection that I recently picked up. I wanted Midtown Magic for a while but when I first saw Trendsetter it reminded me of mustard and I wasn't really impressed... well when I saw it in person... I had to have it!

Midtown Magic. 2 Coats, no topcoat. Midtown Magic is a gorgeous very deep burgundy color loaded with gold glitter that looks orange in some light. Its such a fantastic color! It went on really smooth and dried quickly.

Trendsetter. 2 Coats, no topcoat. Mustard yellow with yellow microglitter/shimmer I really didn't like this color when I saw it swatched on other blogs but when I put it on.... magic! I love this color and it went on and  dried beautifully! So excited I actually did get this color :)

Starting to build up my fall color collection for this year :) awesome!! I almost can't wait for fall so I can start wearing these!

Currently on my nails: Orly Rage

Here is my currently manicure:

Orly Rage. Basecoat, 2 coats, Out The Door topcoat. Beautiful rose gold color from the Foil FX Collection. I love this color for summer and fall. I was feeling a little more classy and chic today so I decided to go for something simple. Like this :)

China Glaze Sun Worshipper in blue light!

Yesterday, I went to Disneyland. While we were waiting in line for Star Tours: The Adventure Continues, one of the waiting areas was a dark room filled with blue light and black light. As soon as we entered the room, my toes were ridiculously visible. Why? This little beauty right here.
China Glaze Sun Worshipper

This is what it looked like under the blue light. Kinda hard to miss my toes, right? Yes. Awesome.

Just had to post about this cause it made me really happy that my toes were this obnoxiously bright :) Working on more posts soon! Got at least 4 or 5 coming up!

Nail art experiment: Mixed Manicure

I've been seeing the mixed manicure trend growing lately so I figured I'd experiment. Here's what I came up with:

Thumb: China Glaze - For Audrey
Pointer: OPI - Skull and Glossbones, China Glaze - Cracked Concrete
Middle: OPI - Mermaid's Tears (base color), Stranger Tides (Top Color)
Ring: OPI - Bring on the Bling
Pinky: OPI - Mermaid's Tears (base), Skull and Glossbones and China Glaze - For Audrey (Polka Dots)

What do you think?

Currently on my nails: Watermelon Rind, Kiwi Cool-ada

Here's what I'm currently wearing:

Fingers: Watermelon Rind (left)
Toes: Kiwi Cool-ada (right)

Watermelon Rind. Orly Bonder, 2 coats, Revlon Topcoat. Beautiful sparkly green. Green base with green glitter. Reminds me of a glittery Slytherin color :)

As far as Kiwi Cool-ada, Its not showing up color accurate. Its a BRIGHT neon green. Continuing with my obsession with neon,  Its a look at my nails kind of green and I love it!

China Glaze Haunting Swatches

So when I went to the nail supply place I frequent guess what was on the shelf?

Needless to say, I had to get it. They also had the other 3 color in the Haunting collection out but I only picked up one of those... the other 2 I didn't like.

First color is Its Alive. 2 coats, no topcoat. Its a rotted flesh kind of color with tons of glitter. Its awesome and so perfectly Halloweenish. It kind of reminds of Zombies or something like that. Fantastic glitter.

The next thing I tried is to put the Ghoulish Glow over Its Alive. 2 coats each, no topcoat. Ghoulish glow is a milky glow in the dark topcoat. As you can see, it makes Its Alive look milky and muted.

Here's the bottle in glow mode. Unfortunately, I had a hard time capturing the glow on my nails. Zom-Body to Love from OPI was much easier to capture on camera... the glow from ghoulish glow was still definitely there but its much more subtle than the OPI version.

Finally I picked up the namesake of the collection, Haunting. 2 coats, no topcoat. Its a gorgeous glitter polish. Black base loaded with silver glitter. Its beautiful. I can definitely see myself wearing this all fall... not just around Halloween time.

The application of all of these was fantastic. I was slightly disappointed by the Ghoulish Glow. I think Zom-Body to Love is much much better in the glow factor. I still love China Glaze as a brand and I'm so excited for these!! I love them all!!!

Currently on my nails: OPI Do You Lilac It?

Here's today's color of choice:

Do You Lilac It? by OPI. Basecoat + 2 coats + Out The Door Topcoat. Easy color to apply. This is actually one of the first OPI colors I ever got only because I had seen it online and someone said it worked well for skin tones like mine and yes... yes it does! It looks amazing with my skin tone, its very, very flattering. I love this!!

I think my next post in the next few days is going to be some more experimental nail art kind of things... I just need to find the time to do ti since I work for the next 2 days. As soon as I have the time, I'll post them!
